On Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 9:45 pm., officers responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Sherman and Mellen Streets.  They found Tyler Flexon, 26 – year-old from Portland suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  Flexon was transported to Maine Medical Center where he later died according to a press release issued this afternoon by the Portland Police Department.

An autopsy was conducted later that day and the medical examiner ruled his death a homcide.  Police do not believe this was a random incident and do not believe there is any danger to the public.
