“Wake Up Republicans!” You Too Are Affected by this Health Care Vote of the Republican Party..

One of Numerous Signs at the NO KINGS DAY Rally in June Calling Out the Seriously Unpopular Collins for Doing Nothing to Stand up to Trump Authoriatism and Voted Against Her Constituents Best Interests Constantly.  She is Thin-skinned and Anti-social.

Maine Senator Susan Collins (R) today voted in favor of making health care more expensive for Mainers and all Americans with her vote in support of S.3386.  This bill would have done nothing to address the current health care crisis.  Instead, the bill would have added dangerous new restrictions on abortion care and allowed already increasing health care costs to skyrocket according to a press release received late this afternoon from Lisa Newcomb of Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund.

Senator Angus King  (I) voted against this legislation.

If passed, this bill would have created additional and sometimes insurmountable barriers to health care, including sexual and reproductive health care.  The bill’s proposed health savings accounts would not solve the ongoing and severe health care crisis for Mainers or address the prohibitive high cost of premiums.

“Senator Collins’ vote today is shocking, as Mainers and Americans all over the country are facing insurmountable increases in health care costs next month.  If this bill had passed, it would have deeply hurt Mainers and had real consequences in our state and nationwide,” said Lisa Margulies, VP of Public Affairs, at Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund.

Despite ongoing attacks from President Trump and the Republican-led Congress, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE) remains committed to its values and won’t abandon its patients.  Today’s vote is a troubling reminder that Republicans in Wahington ae willing to strip millions of people and tens of thousands sof Mainers of their health insurance of an exreme anti-abortion agenda.  Abortion is health care and prople need meaningfl reform, not more restrictions on health care.

Maine’s already fragile healthcare system can’td take more hitds and today’s vote is a major blow.  No one understands the consequences of Republican indifference to health care better than Planned Parenthood of Northern New England.

In July, Republicans in Congress attempted to strangle Planned Parenthood financially by proibiting its health centers from received federal resimbursement for non-abortion services it provides to patients insured by Medicaid — a backdoor abortion ban specifically targeting states like Maine, where abortion is legal.  The policy was designed to inflict harm, but Planned Parenthood won’t sacrifices the lives of Mainers who count on its care.  Planned Parenthood has kept its commitment to see anyone who needs care, regardless of ability to pay.

Senator Collins’ support for today’s Republican bill would do nothing to alleviate the panic people are feeling as the price hikes on January 1 are swiftly approaching.  This sha of a health care bill would advance more restrictions on abortion and undermine access to abortionn care nationwide.  Her “yes” vote is disconnected from the reality of Mainers.

While Planned Parenthood is fighting to keep the doors open and ensure everyone who needs care can get that care, Senator Collins voted on S.3386 to undermine Mainers’ access to essential health care.  It’s one thing to say you care for Mainers and dtheir health and bodily autonomy; it’s another to act on those words.  Senator Collins’ vote represents a betrayal of Mainers, their health and their values,” the press release ended.

“Maybe we’ll get lucky and the spineless Senator Collins will quit the upcoming Senate race like many of her colleagues are doing.  She must know how unpopular she and her gutless colleagues are in Maine and across the nation,” says this blogger.  “The Epstein files, ICE, the illegal boat strikes and inflation at the grocery store are other issues that are causing a serious downturn in the popularity of the Trump administration and its puppets.  The lower his approval ratings go, the more irrational his behavior becomes.
