Senator Susan Collins (R) Recently Voted Against Workers’ Rights.  She is Siting on a Political Hot Seat in her 2026 Re-election Bid as Maine Democrats. Monitor Her Votes for Trump Picks for his Administration.    Will She Support Hegseth, Patel, RFK and the Oehtr Anti-establishment Candidates Nominated by Trump.  She’s Not Moderate, She’s AWOL in Southern Maine.

On Wednesday, Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) joined with almost all of her Republilcan colleagues to vote against the confirmation of pro-labor National Labor Relations Board nominee Lauren McFerran.

The final vote was 49 in favor and 50 against. Confirming McFerran, who currently serves as NLRB Chair, would have meant that the Labor Board had a pro-worker majority through at least August 2026.  Now it is much more likely that an anti-labor majority on the board will be in charge of investigating violations of workers’ rights, overseeing union elections and protecting the right to unionize and collectie bargaining.

The vote of Senator Collins and others will undermine workers’ freedom to organize and bargain for a better life according to Andy O’Brien of the Maine State Labor News.

Collins’ negative vote is a huge setback for workers.  McFerran’s confirmation would have solidified a pro-labor majority, giving workers a fighting chance to some better protections.  But now, Donald Trump has the keys to the NLRB and once he takes office again, we can expect a new wave of anti-worker actions.

Maine Democratic politicians are monitoring Collins votes on the anti-establishment and incompetent nominees of Donald Trump for his cabinet.  Will she succumb to the pressure of Elon Musk to support these incompetents or do the right thing for the Blue State of Maine?  She’s vulnerable for her announced re-election in two years – that[s when Governor Mills (D) term ends.  The US Senate is the long overdue seat for Congrsswoman Chellie Pingree (D) who had it stolen from her by Senator Angus King who is not a Democrat.  Maine needs two Democrats in the US Senate..

Apparently her  press chief Annie Clark in DC forgot to send out a press release about the Senator’s vote on her NLRB vote.  It appears that AWOL Collins (R) is anti-worker just like her mentor, Donald Trump.  AWOL Collins needs to be replaced in two years because she doesn’t represent the best interests of Maine residents.
