Secretary of State Shenna Bellows appeared on cable news this evening to announce that she has received an invitation from the FBI to participate in a call/meeting later this month on the upcoming mid-term elections.

Asked by one of the panelists on the show if this were unprecedented  and whether or not she would participate in the call/meeting, Secretary Bellows responded with confidence and clarity:  “No” and “Yes.”  No that she had never received such an invitation previously.  And yes to the second question that she will participate in the call/meeting.

A discussion followed this disclosure in which the host of the show reminded all that elections are under the  purview of the states according to the US Constitution.  As Dictator Trump has seen his approval ratings tank into the toilet, he has panicked.   He’s afraid of being impeached he has told Republicans. So, recently he told Republicans they should “nationalize” elections in about “15 places” – presumably blue states that don’t support him. That has become a talking point in much of the news recently.  Particularlly vulnerable is Maine’s incumbent Senator Collins (R).  She voted in support of the appointments of anti-vaxer Secretary Kennedy and puppy shooter in the head Secretary Kristi Noem of DHS.  The latter is under particular fire by democrats because of her mishandling of the ICE goons. In fact, Congresswoman Chellile Pingree, (D-ME) is one of over 160 democrats who have signed on to impeach Secretary Noem.

Assuming a strong stance to her credit, Secretary Bellows said:  “We will not back down.”   She said that she is preparing for such a meeting in advance of it. Secretary Bellows is also a candidate for the governorship of Maine in the upcoming election.  That’s because Governor Mills is a lame duck since she can’t run for a third term.
