A second round of free PPE Give-A-Way to Portland businesses is being launched by the city of Portland according to a press release issued this morning by the city’s spokeswoman.

The city is pleased to offer its second round of free personal protection equipment (PPE) supplies to small Portland businesses (30 or fewer employees) that physically interact with the public on a daily basis.  As we continue to live within a pandemic, PPE (disposable masks, hand sanitizer and surface disinfectant) is crucial for maintaining safe business operations.  It is, however, impacting the budgets of small businesses when many are facing financial challenges.

If a business is interested in picking up some free supplies, it is invited to fill out this Google form at: https://forms.gle/Ar2XrVzKSjEBin6TA in which the business can select the best date and time for them to pick up the PPE at Ocean Gateway on either Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am or Thursday, January 14, 2021, from 1:00 pm – to 3:00 pm.

For as long as they last, the PPE available to each business will include up to:

Four boxes of Disposable Masks (50 masks/box); One hands-free dispenser for hand sanitizer (requires 4 C batteries) and one gallon of hand sanitizer gel for filling and refilling the dispenser or 4 individual bottles of hand sanitizer; and three-quarts of high quality surface disinfectant.

These supplies have been made available by funding the city received from the Keep Maine Healthy grant program.  Portland thanks the State of Maine for its assistance to be able to provide these free supplies in order to soften the impact on tight budgets during the COVID-19 pandemic.
