The Maine Department of Marine Resources (DMR) announced late this afternoon that it will resume its search tomorrow morning for Alton Wallace, 51, who was reported missing yesterday afternoon by a famly member after failing to return from harvesting clams.
The search that began yesterday afternoon focused in the area near Fickett Point in the mouth of the Narraguagus River. Responders were able to use Mr. Wallace’s last cell phone ping which occurred yesterday at approimately 7:30 am to determine a location for the search.
The search yesterday involved members of the US Coast Guard, the Maine Warden Service, the Maine Forest Service and local fishermen was called off last evening due to poor visibility. The search today again focused on Narraguagus Bay.
Depending on the weather tomorrow, Marine Patrol Pilot Steve Ingram will also participate in the search.
