Sangillo’s Tavern, 18 Hampshire Street, has received a new date to make its case for why its liquor license should be renewed. It’s a two day appeal hearing scheduled for Thursday, November 6th and Friday, November 7th at city council chambers at City Hall. The time is 9:30 am.
The bar lost its license last spring when the city coucil voted narrowly, to revoke the iconic bar’s license because of complaints from neighbors in the area. Those supporting the bar staying open have said that many of the complaints have come from a neighbor who is in new in the area.
The bar has remained open during this appeal. Public comment will be taken at the public hearing.
The first date for the public hearing, September 11th, was postponed at the request of the Tavern. It had hoped to settle the dispute privately.
