Rare Lecture Series for Political Junkies Coming Later This Month

If you are a political junky, this upcoming series of lectures is one that you won’t want to miss!  “Politics Then and Now, In Maine and the Nation” is the theme the eight high-profile politicians will address.  OLLI at USM and the Muskie School of Public Service have joined forces to offer this outstanding series which is free and open to the public.

All lectures dwill be held Thursdays from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm.  The lectures will be held in the Lee Community Hall (room 133) in the Wishcamper Center, with the exception of George Mitchell, Barney Frank and Olympia Snowe, which will be held in Hannaford Hall in the Abromson Center.

Septembe 19 – Former US Congressman Tom Allen

September 26 – Former US Senator George Mitchell

October 3 – Former Maine Governor Kenneth M. Curtis

October 10 – Former Maine Senate President and House Speaker Elizabeth (Libby) Mitchell

October 17 – US Senator Angus King

October 24 – Former US Senator Olympia Snowe

October 31 – Former US Congressman Barney Frank

November 7th – Closing Panel Discussion featuring Former State Senator Cynthia Dill, Maine House Republican Leader Kenneth Fredette, and University of Maine Professor of Political Science Amy Fried.
