Public Hearing On Plans for Waterfront Property by MDOT – Public Comment To Be Taken; 2/8

Roughly 14 Acres of Waterfront Land Eyed by MDOT

The city’s planning board has announced it will be holding a public hearing to consider a proposal by the Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) at the International Marine Terminal at 468 Commercial Street.  The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, February 8, at 6 pm at the City Hall,  Room 209, 2nd floor.  Public comment will be taken at this meeting.

The proposal includes removing portions of existing structures, constructing a 3,300 sq. foot administrative building, a 5,000 sq. ft. pier expansion, lighting, and upgrades to the paving, grading and utilities for the site.  The property encompasses +/- 14 acres of land. The project will be reviewed as a Level III site Plan for compliance with the Land Use Ordinance.
