A private jet carrying eight people crashed just after takeoff on Sunday, January 25, 2026.  It happened around 7:45 pm and was reported on cable news stations. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigation.  Seven died in the accident and one is injured..

A revised version of the incident this afternoon says that there were 6 aboard the plane and no one survived.  The plane was enroute from Houston to Paris.  The Bangor airport is closed until around noon Tuesday – tomorrow.

Apparently, there were ongoing discussions at the airport as to whether or not the de-icing was working.
