The city of Portland announced today that it has received a Minor Site Plan application to facilitate upgrades to Fitzpatrick Stadium for a future Minor League Soccer team.  The soccer team is Portland United LLC.

The upgrades include renovation of existing press boxes, replacement of existing bleachers, construction of two locker rooms and relocation of three storage containers.  This application will be reviewed administatively by city staff.  If you have any questions, please contact Natasha Kypler, city planner, by phone at (207) 756-8083,

On November 13, 2023, the city council unanimously approved an agreement between Portland Unied LLC and the city for the use of Fitzgerald Stadium as the team’s headquarters.  The contract was negotiated by Ethan Hipple, Director of the city’s Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department.
