Abbey Lombard has been selected to serve as Portland’s City Clerk it was announced this morning in a press release issued by the city’s spokeswoman. Her confirmation is set for the April 13 Council meeting.

She has been serving as the Interim City Clerk since January 1, 2026 and prior to that was the Deputy City Clerk for the last three years.  Prior to her tenure with the city of Portland, she served as a Deputy Town Clerk for the Town of Cumberland.

She is certified as a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC), Maine State Dedimus Justice and Notary Public, and is pursuig the International Institute of Municipal Clerks certification  Once confirmed, she will earn $130,000 annually.
