On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at approximately 4:40 pm., Police were called to a campsite located near the Fore River  Parkway Trail System at the end of Frederic Street for the report of a person in need of medical assistance.

Officers located a 36-year-old man that was deceased.  His death is considered suspicious and an autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause and manner of death according to a press release issued this morning by Portland Police.

Police do not feel this is a threat to the public and no further information will be released at this time.
