A 49-year old woman was transported to Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries after being shot.  The incident occured in the area of 19 Parris Street at 8:44 am, today.  The victim and attacker were involved in a verbal argument just before she was shot.

The suspect is described as a younger white male who was armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun.  He was driving a small silver sport utility vehicle possibly with a Massachusetts registration starting with the numbers 771.  There was a passenger in the front seat described as a white male.  The vehicle fled he area and was last seen on Parris Street driving towards Portland Street,
