Portland Man Arrested for Motor Vehicle Theft & Attempted Stabbing

Seth Mccullum, 33, of Portland was arrested last night and transported to Cumberland County Jail with multiple charges.

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 8:55 pm., Portland Police responded to the area of Commercial and HIgh Streets for a report of a motor vehicle theft and an attempted stabbing.  Upon arrival, witnesses pointed out the suspect, Mccullum, who was wielding a knife and was quickly taken into custody.

Witnesses stated that Mccullum attempted to stab the victim before getting into the victim’s vehicle and driving a short distance.  He then proceeded to cause damage to the vehicle, includig slashing two tires.

No one was injured in the incident.
