Portland Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking Yesterday in Bayside Area

Charles Aboda 27, of Portland, was arrested yesterday for aggravated drug trafficking; specifically fentanyl and cocaine according to information received from Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, for the Departmet of Public Safety, Augusta, this morning.

For the past three months, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) agents and officers from the Portland Police Department have conducted an investigation into the illegal trafficking of illegal drugs by Charles Aboda, of Portland.  Information was received that Aboda was selling large quantities of illegal drugs as well as making smaller, street level sales to local drug users.  During one investigation, agents conducted undercover purchases of illegal drugs directly from Aboda to include fentanyl.

On Tuesday afternoon, April 23, 2024, agents and CRU officers in the Portland Police Department arrested Aboda without incident in the Bayside area of Portland on drug trafficking charges.  At the time of his arrest agents seized approximately 3 ounces of fentanyl and cocaine as well as $1000. in suspected drug proceeds.

The investigation is continuing.  Additional charges will be reviewed by Maine’s Attorney General Office against Aboda.
