Kevin Gadsby, Former Manager of Portland Food Co-op Resigns for Another Opportunity.

The lure of another  start-up was too much for Kevin Gadsby to turn down. He recently resigned his position as General Manager of the Portland Food Co-op for another position in Rockland.  The Portland Food Co-op is located at the 290 Congress Street Plaza – at the bottom of Munjoy Hill.

Last April 30, 2014, Gadsby was hired as the General Manager for the planned  Portland Food Co-op.  shortly after that he became responsible for the entire project, working with construction companies, vendors and hiring a staff to run this organic market on Munjoy Hill. The grand opening , held on a cold and rainy last day last December, was the culmination of a project on fast track to completion.

Gadsby began work on A;pril 10, as the managing director for new Main Street Markets, a full service, local and artisan facility in downtown Rockland.  One of the features of the Market will be The Garden Cafe.

“I’m grateful  to have the opportunities to continue doing what I love – creating unique and special food establishments centered on the table.  And around that table is wholesome, locally produced, healthy, organic food.  The end result is community building and fostering the continued growth of Maine’s robust food economy,” said Gadsby in an email.
