The Portland Fire Department was alerted to the report of heavy visible fire on Custom House Wharf at 5:33 pm on Friday, December 26th.  A significant firefight ensued according to a press release issued at 8:39 pm this evening.

Fire Chief Chad Johnson will hold a press conference at 9:30 pm tonight, December 26, 2025 on Commercial Street in the area of Custom House Wharf.  The fire is under investigation with no information related to cause or origin available at this time.  Investigations are expected to be on scene for an extended period of time.

The fire is believed to be at the Maritime Antiques building which has been destroyed by the fire.

This blogger is unable to attend the press conference scheduled for 9:30 pm.  It is believed that the Portland Fire Department will issue another press release following the press conferene this evening.

As of 11:23 pm., this blogger has not received an update on the three alarm fire on the Portland Waterfront.
