The Portland Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 115 Lancaster Street at 4:52 am on Thursday, December 11. The all-hands assignment was struck at 4:57 am with smoke emitting from a single-story connercuak structure. The fire was quickly controlled by crews and considered knocked down at 5:06 am.
Fire companies assisged one male subjectd from the building shortly after arrival. A second female victim was located later at a nearby address after an additional call to 911 for medical assistance. That victim was treated and transported to a local hospital for further care.
The fire is under investigation at this time in collaboration with the State Fire Marshal’s Office and Portland Polce. There were no injuries to responders. After a brief closing of Lancaster Street during operations, traffic patters in the area have returned to normal.
