The Portland Fire Department is hiring Firefighter/EMTs through December 16, 2022 according to a press release issued this morning.  For new recruits, you must meet the following requirements:

must be 21 years old or have reached the age of 20 (20) with two years of post-high school education; must hold and maintain a valid ME EMT- Basic or higher EMS license prior to start date; applicants must pass a background check; must complete Portland Fire Deprtent Physical Ability Test or provide a valid IAFF/IAFC Candidate Physical Ability Test Card; complete a job suitabiility assessment, as well as pass a medical exam and provide proof of COVID vacciation.

Starting salary ranges from $840,00. to $882.42 per week, lateral transfers with at least 3 years experience may be placed at the step level at the Local 740 Contract equivalent to experience level.
