The city of Portland announced a parking ban last night starting tonight, Saturday, January 29, at 10:00 pm through 8:00 am., Sunday, January 30th. (The time for required departure on Sunday morning was extended to 8:00 am). The city encourages residents to get cars into snow ban lots as quickly as possible. Vehicles left on city streets after 10:00 pm tonight can be towed at the owner’s expense.
Spring and Elm Street garages will offer snow ban parking rates Saturday night. The rate is $3/night with no “in and outs” according to the city’s spokeswoman. Elm Street garage will be open on Sunday.
Due to the blizzard conditions expected and timing of the storm, the City encouraged residents to move their cars into the snow ban parking lots after 5:00 pm last night (Friday, January 28) or early today, (Saturday, January 29) morning.
The City as of today, Saturday, January 29, has additionlly called for a Yellow Ban tomorrow Sunday, January 30th starting at 10:00 pm and running through Monday, January 31, at 6:00 pm.
