Among other statements made in the video, a spokeswoman said that Graham Platner has no role whatsoever in who should replace him for the US Senate candidacy  race against Certified MAGA Member Susan Collins.

“The Platner campaign has reached out to the party to try and understand what this process would look like.  At no point has the campaign tried to “put its finger on the scale.”  Over 150,000 Mainers voted for this movement and over 15,000 Mainers volunteered their time and energy to it.  While Graham wouldn’t want to be a part of the process, he would want to make sure the voters and volunteers make this decision — not the political establishment.  — from a Spokesperson for the Platner Campaign.

“Incidentally, this blogger has reached out to the Maine Democratic Party in Augusta for a comment – in a telephone call today.  So far, it has ignored this request. The so-called big tent is getting smaller every day!   Must be nice people up there in Augusta.  Nice enough to BOYCOTT in the upcoming November election”

Mr. Platner has until Monday, July 13, 2026 to remove his name from the November 2026 ballot.  Will he make that deadline?  The Maine Dems have three weeks to select a replacement for him, should he decide to withdraw from the senate race.
