Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D) has joined fellow members of the Democratic Women’s Working Group calling on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform for an official investigation into 17 sexual misconduct claims against President Trump according to a press release issued by her office today.
Pingree was one of 59 members to sign a letter to the Committee making a formal request for an investigation. The letter was addressed to Chairman Gowdy and Ranking Member Cummings.
The letter calls for a response with a decision within ten days so that the Democratic Women’s Working Group can proceed accordingly.
(note: A report on television tonight was that Chairman Gowdy said he will not open an investigation into the Trump sexual misconduct and will refer the matter to the FBI.)
