Emerge Maine is hosting a three-day Candidate Boot Camp in Belfast, Maine for Democratic women running in 2018. The event runs from Friday, December 15th through Sunday, December17th, 2017. Top Democratic political strategists and trainers will teach attendees critical elements of campaigning, including developing a campaign plan, messaging, press operations, public speaking, grass roots field operations and more.
Emerge Maine is bringing their proven model to even more women running for office because of the increased demand for their training. In the November 2016 election, Emerge alumnae had a 72% win rate and won in traditionally Republican districts. Twelve alumnae won House seats for the first time ever, two Emerge Maine alums are serving in leadership roles; Speaker Erin Gideon and Majority Leader Erin Herbig. In 2017, Emerge Maine alums had a 91% win rate in their Municipal races. Currently there are Emerge America affiliates in 24 states with organizing committees in ten others. Intensive boot camp trainings are being done around the country and Emerge Maine is pleased to be able to bring them to Democratic women in our state said the press release issued by Sarah Skillin Woodard.
This three-day “boot camp” is filled up for for this week. However, for more details on this program, please contact Sarah Skillin Woodard, ED., at (207) 831-9658; Emergemaine.org.
