Free Piano Concert at Congress Square Park; An Antidote Needed Now!

The Park Will be the Site of a Free Classical Music Piano Concert Produced by Gather Hear Tour Inc. a National Non-Profit Whose Mission is to Provide Professional Quality Music to Arreas Who Don’t Usuall Have access to Classical Pieo Music.

You are invited to a free piano concert tomorrow, Saturday, September 28th at Congress Square Park, at 2:00 pm.  The Gather Hear Portland concert is produced by Gather Hear Inc., a  7 year old non-profit.

The creator of Gather Hear Inc., is Miki Sawada who hails from Japen originally.  When she arrived in the US about eight years ago. she became aware of how little she knew about this country.  She was “desperate”  to find hope in this country amist the national climate of hate and anger.

So, Ms. Sawada decdied to travel across the country with a piano in a van producing classical music concerts for spontaneous audiences in public spaces.  At the same time, this gave her an opportunity to meet people and places she never would have  gotten to know otherwise according to her webpage.  In 2017 she launched Gather Hear Alaska.  Ever since. she has been on the road delivering her classical music to West Virginia, Massachusetts, Utah, Lousiana and Alabama.  Now it is Portland’s good fortune to be the recipient of Ms. Sawada’s musical talent tomorrow.

The Tour delivers professional quality live, inclusive classical music  experiences to audiences who may otherwise not have access to the art form.  Ms. Sawada targets locations that lack access to the arts – whether it is a rural town or a disadvantaged neighborhood of a city.

The mission of Gather Hear Inc., is to foster human connection and dialogue across socioeconomic and political differences and to capture an honest, intimate and ultimately hopeful portrait of America ….amist a national climate of division and violence quoting from to Ms. Sawada’s webpage.

An antidote needed in this climate of hate and anger!
