Sledding at the Eastern Promenade This Afternoon.

As expected, a parking ban has been announced for this evening, Tuesday, December 26, starting at 10:00 pm and running through tomorrow Wednesday, December 27th at 6:00 am.  Vehicles left on Portland streets after 10:00 pm tonight will be towed at the owners’ expense.  (It can be expensive as well as very inconvenient.)  This ban will give city crews time to clear the streets from the snow fall that occurred on Christmas Day, Monday, December 25, 2017.

Cars must be removed from city designated parking places by 7:00 am (except for school lots) or risk the possibility of being towed at the owners’ expense.

There are numerous places in the city where those with only off-street parking available to them can park during this ban.  Public garages are open and should be considered as well.

For more information on the ban, please call the public works customer service number:  207 874-8493 (open 24  hrs. during the winter) and/or the parking ban hotline 879-0300.
