On Sunday, March 9, 2025 at approximately 9:23 am., the Old Orchard Beach Police and Fire Department responded to 9 Usen Lane for a reported cardiac event.  Upon arrival, first responders determined that the male resident was deceased in the living room and that a fire had occurred inside the residence.  The Fire Marshall’s Office was dispatched to investigate.

The deceased has been identified as John Chadbourne, 70 years old.  The cause and circumstance of the fire remain under investigation.
