The popular Observatory on Munjoy Hill will be opening for the season starting on Saturday, June 5th from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm; Thursday – Monday with the last entry time at 5:00 pm.  Access to the Observatory will be by pre-purchased, timed tickets only according to Greater Portland Landmarks.  Last summer the Observatory was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Up to 8 visitors will be allowed in the observatory at a time and will have 45 minutes to check out the exhibit, explore and marvel at the view from the top.  Docents will be on hand to answer any questions and offer guided ours on request.

Tickets are $10.00 and must be purchased in advance for the safety of our staff volunteers and visitors.  Masks will be required regardless of vaccination status.  The gift shop will be open, but please be prepared to pay with a card. Hand sanitizer will be available on the first floor and on the lantern.

Greater Portland Landmarks will be reviewing and updating the mask guidelines and timed entry passes as the season progresses and recommendations are revisited.

Please see post herein dated June 30, 2020 for more background information on the subject.
