The brown wrapping paper is up in the windows of the former Angela Adams showroom at the juncture of India and Congress Streets. That means that serious work is finally underway by the new occupants of the ground floor of the East End Lofts.

The new bookstore is expected to open by mid-November according to Josh Christie, co-owner the store.  The new bookstore will be open in time for Holiday shopping.

Christie, the former manager of Sherman’s Books on Exchange Street in the Old Port has partnered with Emily Russo, daughter of Pultizer Prize winning author Richard Russo.  Russo, who has always been closely affiliated with Longfellow Books, on Monument Way, lives in Portland.
