The center of the Halloween festivities on Munjoy Hill,a/k/a the East End, was the eeerily decorated Portland Observatory, Congress Street.  The trick or treat party began at 3:00 – 6:00 pm and ran on.  Lots of candy was on hand as well as a funny gang of costumed Observatory docents greeting visitors.

Spirits Alive, at the Eastern Cemetery at the bottom of Munjoy Hill also had a fun presentation today as spooks at the gated entrance offered candy – “Be Sure You Take Off The Outside Wrapper Before You Eat It” – and lots of good humor.  (See photo to right.) www.spiritsalive.org

The community can just hope that these two events will become neighborhood traditions – safe fun and lots of laughs for all!
