Dan Porta, Owner of a New Natural Food Store Going in at 47 India Street in the Near Future.

Lois’ Natural Marketplace on Rt. 1 in Scarborough

The popular Lois’ Natural Marketplace is coming to 47 India Street (corner of Middle and India Streets) within the next few months said its owner Dan Porta today.  Expected to open in December or in January of 2015 at the latest,  this location will be a mini-edition of the organic food store already located in Scarborough.

This new location will be mostly take-out with an extensive menu of soups, sandwiches and an organic deli.  There will also be lots of local product sold at the store.  Porta has been working with farmers to realize that goal. There will be a few seats available for patrons as well.  The site is undergoing a major renovation to accommodate the business.

“We’ve wanted to be in this location for a long-time now. We have many customers in our Scarborough store who’ve been encouraging us to move to Portland.  My wife (Lois) and I are really excited to be part of this dynamic community,” said Porta.
