Mercy Hospital, on State Street, Will be the Subject of a Meeting on Future Plans Next Month.

You are invited to attend a  meeting to learn about plans of Mercy Hospital to move to the Fore River campus at some unidentified time in the future.  The meeting is set for Wednesday, May 16, from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm at St. Luke’s Episcopal Cathedral, 143 State Street, Portland.  The Cathedral is located directly across from Mercy Hospital.

Consolidating hospital operations to the Fore River campus is one step in Mercy’s  future plans.  The announcement did not indicate when this move might happen, if there are any plans for the current State Street facilities or about anticipated job losses following the consolidation.  The ramifications are numerous. The Fore Street campus is 42-acres large with views of the Fore River. All rooms are private rooms.

Mercy is also celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
