Portland Mayor Michael Brennan set  his compass for the coming  year at his State  of the City speech last night – and it included the interests of a wide swath of his Portland constituency.  The initiatives he called for also called for participation in city government by that swath of community activists.

The first part of the Mayor’s, off the cuff speech, was devoted to reviewing the accomplishments of the year just passed.
