VOTING MATTERS!

The Secretary of State’s Office today announed that Maine voters may now request absentee ballots for the November 3, 2026 General Election.  Voters may request ballots onine or by contacting their town or city clerk.  Contact information for municipal clerks can be found on the Secretary of State’s website.

Maine’s no-excuse absentee voting laws allows any registered voter to request a ballot three months before Election Day, and their ballots will be issued by their municipal clerks beginning 30 days prior to Election Day.  Once a ballot request is submitted, Maine voters can track the process of that request and their ballot online.

Mainer’s no-excuse absentee voting period, including in-person absentee voting at town and city halls, extends through October 29.  All absentee ballots for the upcoming General Election must be received by a voter’s municipality by 8:00 pm on November 3, 2026.
