Janet Mills for Governor Campaign spokesperson Scott Ogden issued the following statement this morning on the Maine Republican Party’s new, false TV ad that continues to lie about Governor Mills’ record:

“This latest ad is full of flat out lies and false attacks that have been debunked by fact checker after fact checker.  Maine people deserve a governor who is going to tell them the truth and with this new ad, Paul LePage and the Maine GOP continue to show that they are incapable of that.

“Here’s the truth:  Governor Mills has never raised taxes and she does not want to raise taxes.  Instead, she has delivered tax relief, cut axes for retirees, and put money back into the pockets of hardworking people by delivering $850. in inflation relief one of the best inflation relief packages in the country that Paul LePage wanted to deny to Maine people despite cashing his own relief check to benefit himself.

“Governor Mills will continue to fight inflation and deliver Maine people real relief.  Paul LePage does not have the skillset or character to meet the challenges facing Maine.  He can only deliver dysfunction and falsehoods.  Maine people deserve better than him.”
