The Entrance to the New Madewell at the Corner of Market and Middle Streets Today Was Open on A Warm  Day as Workers Put the Finishing Touches on the Interior of the  New Business.

Madewell, a clothing store known for its denim jeans, is expanding its national business into the Old Port of Portland.  The new store will be located at the corner of Middle and Market Streets – 75 Middle Street.

According to a source with first-hand information, it is slated to open on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

MADEWELL replaces The Manor, A Hair Salon, Clothing Boutique, Home Decor, an  upscale store, with its base in Georgia.

Oleg P. Opalnyk, owner of Custom Design & Restoration, LLC, has been doing the finishing and carpentry work following MADEWELL’s plans he said today.   He expects to finish up tomorrow, Friday, November 4th or on Monday. Oleg is from Ukraine.  He came to this country in 1999.
