On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at approximately 7:50 pm., Troopers from Maine State Police Central Field Troop responded to the Liberty Town Hall for a report of an assault that had taken place there.

Upon the subsequent investigation that ensued. it was determned that probable cause existed for the arrrest of Roland Singer, 56, of Liberty.  He was charged with two counts of Simple Assault aains one of the selectboard members who susained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Singer was also charged with one count of Criminal Mischief.  No other information is available at this time according to a press release issued this morning by Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, for the Maine Department of Public Safety, Augusta.
