Rep. Chellie Pingree (D) Supported Landmark Gun Legislaltion That Went to the White House Yesterday.

President Joe Biden Moments Before Signing the Landmark Gun Legislation into Law This Morning at the White House.
“Urgently-needed gun violence prevention legislation” passed the House and enough Republican Senators supported it to be forwarded to the White House for the President’s signature yesterday according to a press release issued by the office of US Representative Chellie Pingree (D) yesterday afternoon.
The bill includes funding for red flag laws, enhanced background checks for buyers under 21, increased mental health resources and more life-safe provisions.
“For three decades while Republicans staunchly obstructed commonsense gun violence prevention bills, Americans endured tragedy after tragedy. From schools and churches to grocery stores and concerts, weapons of war have senselessly been turned on our children and neighbors,” said Pingree. “In the wake of more horriific mass shootings in Uvalde and Buffao, Republicans have finally put aside partianship to join Democrats in taking this first step to deliver what our constituents have long wanted. With today’s message of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, Congress has taken a long-overdue action to stop America’s epidemic of gun violence.”
“Republicans blinked,” said this blogger. “It’s a start to more eye opening legislation.”
