Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) and Jeffrey Godberg, Editor of “The Atlantic” Appearing on Cable News This Morning.

Chris Matthews, Retired TV Talk Show Host for “Hardball” said That This Has Turned from a Blunder to a Cover-up by the Administration This Morning on the “Morning Joe” Cable News Show. Matthews also Wondered Why Did Walz Have Goldberg’s Phone Number? “This Was no Accident.”

A Portion of the CLassified Material Released by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on the Signal Platform & Released by Jeffrey Goldberg This Morning on Cable News.
This morning Jeffrey Goldberg, respected editor of “The Atlantic” magazine released the contents of the Signal chat room that he mistakenly received just several hours prior to an attack in Yemen. The Goldberg release came on the “Morning Joe” cable news show in response to the Trump administration’s lies that the detailed war plans were not “classified.”
During a line by line reading of the Signal chat room contents, Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) and Vice Chair of the Intelligence Committee, confirmed to “Morning Joe” host Joe that the information was indeed “classified.” Therefore it should not have been distributed on the Signal platform which is used specifically for non-classified information and not classified information.
The controversy became more intense as Michael Waltz, who invited Mr. Goldberg to be on the chat room, appeared on FOX television attemped to destroy the outstanding reputation of Editor Jeffrey Goldberg rather than take responsibiiity for his mistake in what some consider to be a cover-up to hide the truth.
The White House was repeating the Walz lies that there was no classified content on the Signal platform and that no harm was done. But then Convicted Felon Trump’s well known contempt for the importance of protecting the nation’s top secrets is well-documented.
This security breach begs the question from where did Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, get this information to how many other Signal chats were held in the distribution of this classified material?
Hakeem Jeffries, (D) and Minority Leader for the House of Representatives, who wrote the White House last night, said that “Pete Hegseth should be fired immediately if he is not man enouogh to resign himself. Privately some Republicans shake their heads on the floor, but won’t speak up. To some Republicans facts don’t matter. They are burying their heads in the sand. There is every reason to believe that our troops are at risk. Phones should be turned in to determine what other blunders they have made.”
Vice President JD Vance, probably the least popular VP in our nation’s history said of Jeffrey Goldberg’s claim that he received classified information mistakenly: “This is much ado about nothing. Goldberg oversold what he had.” Democrats disagree.
Later in the morning at another Intel Committee meeting, Congressman Jason Crowe (D-CO) said: “It’s outrageous that these officials come before us and yet nobody comes to accept responsibility for this mistake. Why hasn’t Pete Hegseth resigned yet?” Crowe, an Army Ranger veteran, served three terms in Iraq and Afghanistan.
It has been reported that the Signal platform can only be received on personal phones and not on government phones. Another question remains if that is so, why was the shift to personal phones made by Michael Waltz. Did he intentionally want to include Mr. Goldberg on this non-governmental platform? And why did Waltz have Mr. Goldberg’s phone number accessible to him as Chris Matthews wondered? An additional fact is that Signal is designed to disappear – that is no record of this chat would be kept/ That is contrary to government policy. Some critics of the security breach have suggested that this was the reason for the use of Signal.
