Join your friends, families and neighbors at the NO KINGS Rally on October 18, 2025 at Deering Oaks Park in Portland. The Rally runs from 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm.
This is another opportunity to let President Trump know what you think of his:
weaponizing of DOJ to pursue his critics in US courts, (this afternoon NY AG Letitia James was indicted for alleged bank fraud in Federal Court); illegal deployment of ICE agents in cities like LA and Chicago; failure to release the Epstein files in order to protect himself and who else ?; failure to release his income taxes from Day One; feeling so threatened by women that he needs to control us; and what about his failure to address inflation, rising health care costs?
Why did he and Republicans shut down the government rather than address the cost of health care? Why are his poll numbers dropping so precipitously? The list is long.
This is a peaceful movement that is only getting bigger and stronger. “NO KINGS,” is more than just a slogan — it’s the foundation our nation was built upon. Born in the streets, carried by millions in chants and on posters, it echoes from city blocks to rural town squares, uniting people across this country to fight dictatorship together.
“Democracy is fragile. You have to fight for every bit, every law, every safeguard, every institution, every story. You must know how dangerous it is to suffer even the tiniest cut. This is why I say to us all: we must hold the line,” wrote journalist Maria Ressa, in her book, “How to Stand up to a Dictator.” The book written in 2022, was published by HarperCollins and is available in paperback. It won the Nobel Peace Prize.
“Our democracy survives only if we refuse to concede to Trump’s lawlessness, to billionaires’ greed and to the politicians who would trade our health and freedoms for their own gain,” said Laurie Woodward Garcia, an organizer of the NO KINGS Rally. “This is the moment to champion freedom over fascism, progress over sabotage and power to the people. Greedy, corrupt politicians have shut down our government to strip health care from millions, clash critical funding and tighten authoritarian control,” she said.
“Trump’s only agenda is retribution,” charges this blogger. “He is a thin-skinned coward.”
The president thinks his rule is absolute. But in America, we don’t have kings and we won’t back down against, chaos, corruption and cruelty, Grow our movement and join us. A core principle behind all “No Kings” events is a commitment to nonviolent action. The group expects all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confirmation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
But please do bring your anti-King signs with you and leave your violence at home!
