Sunshine Stewart, 48, of Tenants Harbor, has been identified as a homicide victim whose death remains under investigation according to Shannon Moss, Public Iinformation Officer, for the Maine Department of  Public Safety, Augusta.

A search for her began on Thursday, July 3, when she was reported missing on Crawford Pond in Union.

Anyone who may have seen Sunshine Stewart paddleboarding on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 betwee 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm near 100 Acre Island on Crawford Pond is asked to contact the Maine State Police at 207 – 624-7076.  This is an active and ongoing investigation.  Additional details are not available at this time.
