On Saturday, April 18, 2026, at approximately 5:25 pm., Portand Police officers responded to the 600 block of Congress Street for a report of a man covered in blood according to a press release received this morning from the Department.

Upon arrival, officers located a 45-year old man, who reported he had been stabbed.  The victim was transported to Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

According to one source, the incident took place behind the Trewlaney Buildingm 655 Congress Street. The victim was able to ambulate down to near the restaurrant Boda, 671 Congress Street.

As a result of the investigation, Stephanie Vierkant, 44, and homeless was arrested and transported to the Cumberland County Jail.  She has been charged with Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault.
