Bayside Neighborhood Hosting Nine Day Community Festival; Starting April 25

The Bayside Neighborhood Association (BNA) announced today that it will host Bayside Week from April 25 through May 3, a nine day community festival featuring dozens of events curated by the BNA’s many teams in collaboration with city agencies, local businesses and non-profits and volunteers from all over the neighborhood.

The centerpiece of the week is the Bayside Gnome Roam, an art project in which hand-sculpted clay figures will be hidden throughout Bayside for people to find and photograph throughout Bayside Week.  The little clay gnomes were made by neighbors and friends during a community event at Maine Clay Collaborative on Hanover Street in Bayside.  A wrap party is scheduled for May 3rd at Wilson County BBQ with prizes and surprises.

Throughout the week, the BNA and it’s sister organization, the Bayside Opportunity Center will be hostig community meals, ice cream socials, popup events and games, as well as amplifying local business events, civic forums, music venues and of course the First Friday Art Walk in Bayside.

On Saturday, May 2nd, four Jane’s Walks will guide participants through Bayside’s urban history, housing landscape, and potential futures on foot.  That eveng, the BNA holds the Annual Meeting and board elections at the Equality Community Center, open to the public.

The BNA has advocated for the Bayside neighborhood for more than 25 years.  The full Bayside Week schedule is available at baysideportland.org/community-calendar
