Curtis Crawford, 54 and homeless, was arrested by Porland Police on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, last night at Shaw’s parking lot on Auburn Avenue. Crawford was reported to police to have chased multiple children through the parking lot with a knife.
Crawford was charged with Criminal Threatening with a Dangerous Weapon and Criminal Trespassing and taken into custody.

Some one needs to take responsibility for these individuals who are not equipped to survive on the streets on their own,” says mhn.com. “The state abandoned them years ago when it stopped funding them in Augusta at AMHI.” Years ago this blogger served on a task force set up by the state to ascertain the needs of the mentally ill being released from AMHI. The chair of the task force, a mental health professional from out-of-state, told us that there will never be enough resources to fill the needs of this population. People will die because of that. “Just don’t tell the press that,” he cautioned us.
