A 40 foot Blue Spruce tree, currently located at 153 Hartley Street, Portland, was selected to be the 2024 Monument Square Tree this year. The city’s Forestry team is coordinaating with Keeley Crane to harvest and install the tree on Wednesday, November 20 with a start time before 7:00 am. The rainy/inclement weather date is Thursday, November 21st.
Portland Forestry crews will be on site with services donated from Shaw Brothers Construction (low bed trailer) and Keeley Crane Service. The tree will be cut around 8:30 am, loaded into the flatbed and secured with the departure to Monument Square around 9:00 am. The delivery route will take the tree down Hartley Street, make a right onto Forest Avenue, then down Forest all the way to Congress and then to Monument Square. Arrival time should be around 10:00 am.
Forestry crews will begin to install lights on Wednesday or Thursday and hope to finish by Tuesday, depending on condiions.
