Congresswoman Pingree Announces $1.2 Million to Support Renewable Energy in District 1

Six (6) businesses in District 1 are the recipients of a total of more than $1.2 million in federal grants it was announced in a press release issued today by Congresswoman Chellie Pingree’s (D) office.  The grants were made possible through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) which was passed by Congressional Democrats and signed into law by President Biden in 2022.

The six are:  Goodwin’s Chevrolet, Brunswick, $490,083l  Golf Traditions, Inc., Falmouth, $243,772; Reform Physical Theraply, Inc., Topsham, $38,100; The Freeport Hotel,LLC., Freeport, $302,726; Chase Solar; Warren, $67,987 and Great Works Properties, Inc, Berwick, $97,500.

The IRA, championed by House Democrats and signed into law by President Biden in August 2022, represents the single largest investment in climate and clean energy solutionsi in American history.

“Once again, the landmark IRA is bringing lasting investment in rural electrification to communities across Mane,”   said Congresswoman Pingree, a member of the House Agriculture Committee. “Grants  like these area ahelping businesses become part of the climate solution.  REAP grants are not only critical to reducing our country’s dependence on fossil fuels, they also  help businesses reduce energy costs, allowing them to invest in their people –    and pass along their savings to their customers.
