Hegseth’s Nomination for DOD Secretary in “Peril”- DeSantis Considered for Replacement

The Noination of Pete Hegseth, by Trump for DOD Secretary,  is in “Peril,”

Senator Susan Collins (R) Has no Comment on the Nomination of Pete Hegseth for DOD Secretary of Defense in Light of His Lack of Character and Drinking Issues.   LEADERSHI??

Pete Hegseth’s nomination to be Secretary of Defense is in  “peril” because of additional concerns about his drinking habits while a Saturday morning anchor on Fox according to MSNBC cable news it was reported late this afternoon.

According to the MSNBC cable news report, six US Senators have expressed their concern because of reports of  his drinkig while serving as a FOX anchor.  Only three  no votes from the Senate are required to defeat his nomination.  There may well be more than six Senators not willing to support his nomination.

At least ten FOX employees have expressed their concern about his drinking problems while an anchor at that station. Hegseth would arrive on set late because of his drinking causing stress for employees who put the show together.  Hegseth would complain about being hung over frequently  which was apparent to people around him.

This is the third wave in a tusani of negative reports about the behavior of Hegseth.  First, was the email from his mother accusing him of abusing women and other problems.  Second, was a report by Jane Mayer in “The New Yorker” of his dismissal from two non-profits because of his financial mismanagement  and drinking problems.  He was forced out because he used the budget for his personal use.  Ms. Mayer is the author of the award-winning book “Dark Money.,” published in 2016.

According to MSNBC reporters, unlike Matt Gaetz, Hegseth is liked by those who meet him and chat with him.  However, Gaetz who withdrew his bid for the AG position was disliked by his colleagues in the Congress.

The DOD budget is 800 billion dollars.  Do you want a boozer managing that kind of money and abusing women?

Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) has no comment on this latest development for Hegseth’s nomination to be Secretary of DOD, despite an inquiry to her office press person, Annie Clark..  It’s not surprising because the Senator has a many year reputation of not expressing her views because she is so “thin-skinned” that she can’t tolerate the criticism.  That’s probably why it has been many years since she has made a public appearance in southern Maine where she is not popular.  She does occasionally appear in private settings where she is protected from public scrutiny.  Even Trump advocate Senator Lindsay Graham (R,SC) admits that approving Hegseth would be an uphill battle.

Trump has a special talent for nominating unqualified, abusers of women to his administration.  Which unqualified nominee is next?   Cash Patel?   RFK? The list is long.

Late this evening it has been reported that Trump is considering replacing his Hegseth nomination with Governor Ron DiSantis of Florida.
