“Hear Here 3”, a talent show of Portland’s performing arttists, is set to return to Merrilll Auditorium, Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 6:00 pm according to a press release issued today by Creative Portland, the city’s funded arts agency.  This return to the Merrill stage follows a hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The culturally diverse event features an international dancer, a trio of songbirds, a classical strings quartet, a surprise presentation by Broadway actors, the Burundian Drummers, Rwandan dancers and much more.  The underlying theme according to the press release is “of sharing different perspectives and building trust through acceptance of the variety of artists from different backgrounds and artistic disciplines’ that grace the Portland area.  The first two producdtions of Hear Here in 2019  and 2020 welcomed over 600 guests; some of those guests will return for the 2025 production.

“Hear Here 3″ is the culmination of a weekend promotion called Maine Music Weekend Festival that  celebrates Portland’s stages, venues and clubs.  Our goal is to celebrate our talented artists so we welcome all populations to attend and enjoy concerts throughout the weekend.  We don’t want it to be an elite concert-going experience,” explains Dinah Minot, Executive Director of Creative Portland.

“We couldn’t pull ths off without the help of our generous communty.  Everybody is supportive of the concept to highlight and promote our local performing artists in a large venue like Merrill Auditorium,” said Herb Ivy, President of the Creative Portland Board and Director of Content at Townsqare Media.
