Graham Platner on Senator Collins Reelection Announcement

Mainers Want Fresh New Faces to Repesent them in Washington, DC Such as Oyster Farmer and US Marine Vet Graham Platner, 41.

Today Senator Susan Collins announced her intention to seek a sixth term, 30 years after promsing to serve only two terms.   Graham Platner released the following statement in response:

“In November, the movement we are building will turn the page not just on  Senator Susan Collins, but also on her politics of hollow promises, acquiescience to Donald Trump and failed leadership that’s made her and her friends richer but has sold out the rest of us.

“We will deliver this seat back to the people of Maine.”

Graham was born in Blue Hill and raised in Ellsworth and Sullivan.  He is a lifelong Mainer.  After High School, Graham enlisted in the US Marine Corps and served three deployments to Iraq.  He returned to America and used the GI Bill to attend George Washington University.  But when he saw some of the people he served with get deployed to Afghanistan, he realilzed his time in uniform was not over.  He enrolled in the Army National Guard and was soon deployed to Afghanistan.  Eventually Graham was drawn back home to Maine by his desire to serve his commuity of Sullivan.  He started working on an Oyster Farm on Frenchman Bay.  He eventuallly took over the farm and has built it into a successful and well-knkown small business in the community.  He also serves as Sullivan Harbormaster and Sullivan Planning Board Chair.  Graham lives in Sullivan with his wife, Amy, just three doors down from the house where he grew up.
