The June 9 primary is just 50 days away.  By every metric, Graham Platner holds a commanding lead according to a press release issued by the Platner for US Senate campaign late  this afternoon.

The three most recent polls of the primary electorate all showed Graham up by huge margins.  A Workbench Strategy poll last week showed Graham up 35 points, a poll from Maine People’s Resourace Center found Graham up 33, and a poll conducted by Impact Research found him up 38.

These three polls were all conducted AFTER Governor Mills blanketed the airwaves with attack ads that her allies in DC insisted would change the dynamic of the race.  Instead, their campaign has shown yet again that they don’t understand the fundamental dynamics of the race in the first place.  The most recent poll, taken after after her ads had been on air for 3 weeks once again showed Graham up 35.  Mills has taken all of her ads down and is dark on TV.

On the ground, Mainers keep repudiating the empty policies coming out of DC.  As election day approaches and voters tune into the race more, Graham’s support continues to grow, and Governor Mills’ support remains stagnant.  In the four most recent primary polls, Mills did not break 30%.

Despite the Mills’ campaign’s insistence that she is the most electable candidate in the race — not a single recent poll supports that narrative. Poll after poll shows  that  Graham is a stronger general election  candidate than the governor, with three general election polls taken in March finding that Graham is more electorable and outperforms the governor in head-to-head matchups against Senator Susan Collins.

Last week, Graham announced he had raised over $4 million in the first quarter of 2026, far outpacing both Governor Mills ($2.6 million) and Senator Collins ($3 million).  He’s now outraised both the governor and senator every quarter they’ve been in the race.  Since launching,  Graham’s campaign has received donations from nearly every ZIP code in Maine and his fundraising has been overwhemingly powered by small-dollar donors.  The average contribution this quarter was approximately $26 amd 98% of donations were $200. or less.

Thanks to Graham’s sigificant fundraising advantage, he’s been able to communicate directly with voters on TV  While the governor has been dark on TV for weeks, Graham has been reaching voters with ads that address the issues  Mainers are facing and taking on Susan Collins.

Susan Collins is sinking a billion American dollars a day into this pointless and horrific war in Iran, writing Trump a blank check as he threatens to massacre a nation.

“I’m State Repreentative Valli Geiger.  I wrote a bill to ensure rape kits are tracked, to protect victims and identify perpetrators.  Every year its passage was blocked, but then I told Graham Platner and the first thing he said was:  “Valli, how can I help get this bill passed?”
